The 2018 Angel Ball was once again a huge success, raising over £20,000 for this year’s nominated charity, the John van Geest Cancer Centre based at Nottingham Trent University. Daniel Gooding, Managing Partner of headline sponsor, Rex Gooding Estate Agents & Chartered Surveyors, said ‘We’re delighted with the amount raised for one of the most advanced multidisciplinary cancer research initiatives in the UK. As much as the Angel Ball heralds the start of the festive season for all those attending, the seriousness is not lost on all who come along.’
Big Table created the Angel Ball in 2006 to remember and celebrate the life of a very close friend who lost her battle to breast cancer in that year, since then the Angel Ball has raised over £170,000 for various cancer related charities.
Other sponsors and long terms supporters include chartered accountants, Keith Willis Associates and leading local kitchen design company, Steven Christopher Design. Drinks companies also supported the event, including Shipstones Beer and Angel Revive Water, which was personally donated by owner of the company, Steven Gerrard!
The 380 guests enjoyed the lucky dip with thousands of pounds worth of donated vouchers from places such as Urban Beauty in West Bridgford, local restaurants including Masala Junction and The Cod’s Scallops and many more. Auction prizes this year included a once in a lifetime trip to Malaysia & Borneo courtesy of the Travel Snob, a dinner party for 10 people courtesy of Nottingham’s number one, pop-up restaurant, Nakama plus a ‘New Year, New You’ prize put together by award-winning Soothe Therapies in West Bridgford.
