QUAD has teamed up with the Horror Writers Association to present the first Highlighting Horror: Scriptwriting Day this weekend.
Highlighting Horror will see a packed line-up of scriptwriters, producers and directors will be offering up a day loaded with guidance, inspiration and practical advice for aspiring scriptwriters and filmmakers in the genre, with activities running from 10:00am to 10:00pm.
The full schedule for the day features a range of scriptwriting panels, with top TV and film writing talent taking in areas such as; ‘Writing For TV’; ‘What Makes A Great Horror Script’; ‘How To Get Your Llow-budget Feature Film Off The Ground’ and ‘Whether Short Films Can Provide A Route Into Scriptwriting’.
There will also be a talk illustrated with clips from BAFTA-winning television and film writer Stephen Volk on ‘Writing Paranormal Drama for Film and TV’, completing the wide array of advice and inspiration available on the day.
Highlighting Horror: Scriptwriting Day ticket-holders will also have access to an exclusive short film and movie clips showcase, with many introduced by the directors and writers, along with the Highlighting Horror Quiz and there will also be a book and DVD sale running all day at the venue.
An evening screening of hit horror-comedy Prevenge, Alice Lowe’s slasher fantasy, will be introduced by its producer Jennifer Handorf.
